Ciabatta Bread

Recipe Video

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 Cups of Bread Flour

  • 1 1/2 TBSP of Active Dry Yeast

  • 1 TBSP of Salt

  • 1 2/3 Cups of Warm Water

  • 1-2 TBSP of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Steps:

  1. Add 1/3 Cup of Water to a bowl and add the yeast, let it sit for 15 minutes until it becomes foamy.

  2. Add all 3 1/2 cups of flour and add salt, stir it up.

  3. Add the remainder of water and begin to mix or knead the flour.

  4. Once fully mixed up you are left with sticky dough, this is exactly how we want it.

  5. On a separate bowl, coat the inside of the bowl with olive oil about a TBSP worth.

  6. Place the dough ball in the bowl and cover and set aside for one hour.

  7. Pre Heat the oven to 450F or 233C.

  8. On a separate tray, sprinkle flour on the tray or baking sheet so that the bread does not stick.

  9. Cut the dough ball in half and form two separate cylinders, they do not have to be perfect.

  10. Bake in the oven for about 22-25 Minutes depending on how golden you would like the bread.

  11. Take out and let it cool down for about 10 minutes, slice yourself some and enjoy!
